AWW’s Establishment
Animal Welfare Wisconsin was officially established in August of 2024. We were determined a 501(c)(3) non-profit not long after in November of the same year. We are a small but passionate foster-based rescue located primarily out of Shell Lake, WI. Our founder, Shelli Frazier, and her husband previously resided in the New Richmond and Hudson areas, and frequently travel there for work still.
AWW’s Mission
Animal Welfare Wisconsin seeks to improve and strengthen the welfare of companion animals and their caregivers, including the overall human-animal bond. We will do this through temporary sheltering, rehabilitation, rehoming, intake prevention, outreach programs, and credible humane education.
AWW’s Vision
Animal Welfare Wisconsin will be a model for change for the benefit of companion animals, their caregivers, and those who might just be interacting with a dog or cat in passing, primarily in our local community. We hope to ultimately reduce pet overpopulation, homelessness, and suffering. Additionally, we hope to increase our community’s trust in animal welfare organizations, their awareness of and accessibility to our services and programs, and their knowledge in companion animal care and safety. We hope to challenge and encourage other local animal welfare organizations to encompass our mission and vision of a team philosophy.
